New roads to knitting - subject methods for students and teachers

A collaboration project between the Sogn og Fjordane University College, faculty of education and sport and the three museums, the West Norway Museum of Decorative Art, the Hordamuseum and the Museum centre Salhus - Museum of Norwegian Knitting Industry concerning alternative subject methods.

Knitting workshop for students and teachers in elementary and higher education. Practical creative knitting in relation to the new topics for the subject art and craft in the elementary school: Visual communication, design, art and architecture.

Aims:
– To develop and try alternative subject methods
– Knowledge exchange and knowledge development in knitting
– Knitting as a technique
– Knitting as form
– Knitting as a way of expression
– Increase the knowledge of contemporary knitting
